Jack-O-Lantern Jubilee lights up Combat Center

Superheroes, princesses and creatures of the night took to Del Valle Field during the Jack-O-Lantern Jubilee, Oct. 28, 2016.

Marine Corps Community Services hosted the event in conjunction with the installation’s Family Advocacy Program to provide Combat Center families an opportunity to celebrate Halloween while learning about services offered on base.

“This is our annual fall festival. We partnered with FAP because we wanted to highlight all their amazing services while in a fun environment,” said Eileen Mccallum, special events program manager, MCCS Marketing. “This is one location where a parent can come with their kids and feel safe while still having fun.”

Crowds of costumed parents and children filled the field as they trick-or-treated at different stands where they learned about different programs or played carnival games. Other activities included face-painting, a hay ride organized by Desert Winds Golf Course, performances by EM Cirque, and more than 19 different inflatable attractions.

“It’s just fun for my family to be out here,” said Cpl. Jesus Perez, radio operator, 1st Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment. “The important thing is that my son is having a good time and we can enjoy Halloween together.”
