U.S. Marines with 3rd Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, participate in service-level training events to include Mountain Training Exercise (MTX) 1-20 Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center (MCMWTC), Bridgeport, Calif., and Marine Air Ground Task Force Warfighting Exercise (MWX) 1-20 at Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center, Twentynine Palms Calif., from Oct., to Nov. 2019. The battalion took advantage of training areas at MCMWTC, learning a variety of tactics applicable to their role as the adversary force during MWX. MWX is a force on force exercise designed to challenge the Marine Air Ground Task Force, other U.S. forces, and allied nations’ militaries against a peer adversary in a free-play environment in order to assist the forces with meeting current and future real world operational demands. Marine Air Ground Task Force Training Command (MAGTFTC) conducts advanced individual and collective combined arms and maneuver training, manages the Commandant’s Service Level Training Program (SLTP) in order to enhance the combat readiness of the Marine Air Ground Task Force (MAGTF), and Service’s responsibilities to National Security.
Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center (MCAGCC) supports MAGTFTC through logistics and service support activities and provides a standard of excellence in infrastructure to ensure the readiness of the tenant and resident commands aboard the Combat Center and Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center.
