Service members and civilians aboard the Combat Center got a look at cutting-edge, next-generation products developed by various companies during a technology exposition held at the Officers’ Club Nov. 19, 2013.

The expo, hosted by the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association, Twentynine Palms chapter, featured several corporations showcasing key products.

“This is a very cool expo,” Lance Cpl. Cacey King, data network specialist, G-6. “There’s a lot of new stuff here.”

Among the corporations in attendance were: the Coast Flight Academy, an online degree program dedicated to qualifying aspiring pilots; Data Security Inc., a manufacturer of hard drive devices and degaussers, which destroy sensitive data; and Drive Savers Data Recovery, a company specializing in the recovery of data whether it be extracted from destroyed hard drives, laptops, flash drives, or even iPhones.

“One of the principal markets that we service is the U.S. military and the government sector,” said Jim Short, western regional sales manager, NUUO, a company that creates surveillance equipment and video recorders.

“This equipment would be useful to the provost marshal for surveillance, or to a field commander in an environment where it could be set up quickly and taken down quickly,” Short said.

The Tech Expo proved to be a unique experience for the service members and civilians that seized the opportunity to get a look at the products of tomorrow.
