Cpl. Efrain Scott, a Reno, Nev., native with Kilo Company, 3rd Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, spends some final moments with his 10-month-old daughter, Julia, at the Combat Center Feb. 25, 2008, before he sets off on a deployment to Iraq. 3/4, also nicknamed ?Darkside? for their call sign they adopted during the beginning of Operation Iraqi Freedom, will be deploying to western Al Anbar Province, Iraq. They are tasked with mentoring, monitoring and training the Iraqi security forces, maintaining security and assisting the local leaders to become better governing officials for their local government.
