Touring the Installation

If you’ve ever wondered what happens aboard the Combat Center, here’s your opportunity to learn more about the installation’s history, how Marines and sailors train here and to see parts of the installation not usually seen by non-military personnel.

The Commanding General’s Tours Program runs from October through April and provides adults 18 and older with the opportunity to tour the installation. When Operational Commitments allow and resources permit, tours will be conducted on Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays of the month, on a first come first served basis. Those interested are required to make reservations 60 days in advance. Maximum group size is limited to 35 persons; and the minimum is 10, therefore individuals looking for tours may be matched with other groups or guests. While on the six to eight-hour tour, patrons will be required to walk through deep sand and uneven terrain, and may be faced with extreme weather conditions. The base provides the tours for free; the only cost to participants is lunch at one of the restaurants aboard the installation.

In order to access the installation all members of the tour party must submit identification at least 30 Days in advance for the usage of facilities, unit & entity notification and security screening to include:  full name, date of birth, as well as driver’s license number, state and expiration date. Up to date ID card or Passport information is also accepted.  For guests to access the installation a thorough security screening is mandatory and any individual that is not cleared for access will not be permitted to attend the tour. Failure to provide the requested information 30 days in advance will result in the cancellation of the tour.
