This photo is the bane of my existence. This wasn't planned and even if it was, I'd have no idea what to do. The original idea for where this photo was shot was to shoot the city lights from Ryan Mountain, an almost two-mile hike to a peak of 5,457. The night started with a random walk to a cluster of rocks that me and GySgt. Leo Salinas saw. There was no real reason we started walking other that pure dread of walking up Ryan Mountain, so we stalled, hoping the other would call the plan off. Reluctantly, we found ourselves crawling through bushes, climbing up rock faces with our fair share of camera gear bogging us down and our efforts of hoping the other would call it off never came. Almost an hour later we arrived with a few unusable pictures of the city lights. I set my camera down laid on the cold mountain and stared at the sign. It hit me. "I wanna take this photo," I said. I explained the shot. "Do you know how to do that?," was the first thing he asked me. I didn't and I still don't. Four hours and 30 pictures later, I believed it was straight luck to even get a picture in focus.
