The mission of MAGTFTC/MCAGCC COMMSTRAT is to support the warfighter and ground support element with photographic, videographic, reprographic and written content to support the unit’s training for current and future conflicts and to develop products that highlight the Marine Corps and broaden our social media presence and media relations.
COMMSTRAT advises commanders and staff on communication strategy matters, most importantly in crisis communication.
COMMSTRAT develops and integrates communication plans, communicates with internal, domestic and foreign audiences.
COMMSTRAT produces written and visual information products in order to build understanding, credibility and trust with audiences critical to mission success through the timely release of truthful and accurate information.
To schedule a media escort, the media outlet must submit an official media request form to COMMSTRAT no later than two weeks prior to the desired escort date.
The media request form is available via download, email (smbplmsmcagcccommstrat@usmc.mil), or by directly contacting COMMSTRAT at (760) 830-6747.
All media visits to the Combat Center must be pre-approved and conducted by the COMMSTRAT Office. If a request for a media escort has not been approved, access to the installation will not be granted.
Once the escort has been approved, COMMSTRAT will meet media personnel at the main visitor’s center (Adobe Road entrance) at the pre-determined time. Media will need to bring a valid government-issued I.D. card.
If media chooses to bring their own vehicles aboard the installation they must present current vehicle insurance, valid driver’s license and vehicle registration.
Note: A police background check will be performed on all visitors entering the installation. Non-government vehicles are not permitted in training areas.
