A U.S. Marine Corps CH-53E Super Stallion Helicopter, attached to the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, lands at Oyama park for Iron Fist 24 at Okinoerabu, Japan, March 11, 2024. The exercise provided Marines and 2nd ARDR soldiers the opportunity to coordinate and rehearse a bilateral helicopter raid operations. Iron Fist is an annual bilateral exercise designed to increase interoperability and strengthen the relationships between the U.S. Marine Corps, the U.S. Navy, the Japanese Ground Self Defense Force, and the Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force.
