Johnson Valley Shared Use Area will be closed to the public from Feb. 13-24, 2025, for military training.

Full list of closures scheduled through 2026:

• Feb. 12-26, 2026
• Aug. 13-27, 2026

These closure periods include time to ensure the area is clear of recreational activity before training and to inspect the land for safety before reopening. The adjacent Johnson Valley OHV Recreation Area will remain open during these closures. Recreationists are encouraged to explore other nearby off-roading areas, including Stoddard Valley OHV Area and Ocotillo Wells State Vehicle Recreation
Area.

Live-fire training is conducted year-round at the Combat Center. Recreationists are reminded to respect base boundaries and avoid trespassing.
