Residents near the Combat Center can expect increased military aircraft noise today, October 17, between 1 p.m. and 10 p.m. PST, due to Weapons and Tactics Instructor course 1-26.
The exercise will include a Non-Combatant Evacuation Operation, enabling Marines to quickly and safely extract civilians from unstable or hostile environments, potentially involving simulated scenarios and coordination with various agencies.
WTI is a seven-week training event hosted by Marine Aviation Weapons and Tactics Squadron One which emphasizes operational integration of the six functions of Marine aviation in support of the Marine Air Ground Task Force, Joint and Coalition Forces.
Atmospheric conditions may cause sound from the base to travel farther than usual during training.
