Lieutenant Colonel Clinton Gebke was born in Illinois and is a first generation Marine. He attended Texas A&M University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems in 2004. He was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in December 2004.
Upon completion of The Basic School, Lieutenant Gebke attended Defense Information School Fort Meade, MD. Lieutenant Gebke’s first assignment was with both III MEF and MCIPAC serving as the Media and Plans officer in the Consolidated Public Affairs Office. During this four year tour he completed a seven-month deployment to MNC-I in Iraq, serving in the Public Affairs section as the plans and embed officer.
In 2009, Captain Gebke was transferred to Expeditionary Warfare School at Marine Corps Base Quantico, VA where he attended school until 2010. After graduation, Captain Gebke transferred to Norfolk, VA where he served as a Public Affairs Officer in the Joint Public Affairs Support Element, supporting numerous COCOM level exercises, as well as operations in Pakistan, France, and off the coast of Libya.
Capt Gebke was then transferred to 8th Marine Corps Recruiting District in 2013 where he served as the district Public Affairs Officer. Following this tour, Maj Gebke attended the Command and Staff resident course at the Naval War College in Newport, RI.
Following graduation in 2016, Maj Gebke returned to Okinawa where he served as the Deputy Communication Strategy and Operations Officer for III MEF for three years before extending his tour and being assigned as the Commanding Officer of the Communication Strategy and Operations Company under III MIG in 2019.
In July of 2022, Lieutenant Colonel Gebke transferred to Twentynine Palms, California, and took command of Headquarters Battalion, MAGTFTC/MCAGCC, and still serves there today.
