Master Gunnery Sergeant Oliver currently serves as the Senior Enlisted Advisor/Leader for MCLOG in Twentynine Palms California where he supports the Logistics Tactics Training and Education Program that trains logisticians in the art and science of logistics planning and command and control across the range of MAGTF operations.
Master Gunnery Sergeant Oliver is a native of Tampa, Florida. He enlisted in the Marine Corps on August 8,1999 and attended Recruit Training at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot Paris Island South Carolina. Upon graduating from Recruit Training, he reported to Camp Lejeune, Camp Geiger, North Carolina for Marine Combat Training SOI East. Following completion of MCT, he reported to military occupation school in February 2000 at Camp Johnson North Carolina to become an Embarkation Logistics Specialist.
During Master Gunnery Sergeant Oliver's career, he has served in units that represent all elements of the MAGTF as a Embarkation, Logistics, and/or Operations Chief and has been called upon to fulfill various mission essential collateral duties that include Anti-terrorism Officer, Lead Uniformed Victim Advocate, Casualty Assistance Calls Representative, Equal Opportunity Representative, Suicide Prevention Officer and UMAPIT Master Trainer.
His embarkation and logistics assignments include Embarkation Chief, 3rd Battalion 4th Marines; Embarkation NCO and Regimental Logistics Chief, 7th Marines Regiment; Battalion Logistics and Embarkation Chief, 2nd Battalion 7th Marines; Squadron Embarkation Chief, Marine Air Group 46; MEU Embarkation Chief, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit; Logistics Chief, VMU-1; Logistics Chief, Advisor Training Group; and Logistics Chief, I MEF Expeditionary Operations Training Group.
His operational assignments include, Operations Chief for Combat Logistics Battalion 23 in Fort Lewis Washington, Operations Chief for Combat Logistics Regiment 37 in Okinawa Japan, and I MEF G4 Operations Chief, Camp Pendleton California.
His special assignments include I MEF Air Liaison Element SNCOIC for March Air Reserve Base from April 2014 to November 2014.
Master Gunnery Sergeant Oliver has a Bachelor’s Degree in Transportation and Logistics Management from American Military University and his personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal in lieu of Third Award, Navy Marine Corps Commendation Medal in lieu of Fifth Award, Good Conduct Medal in lieu of Eighth Award, and the Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal.
