A native of Washington State, Colonel Adams graduated from college and accepted a commission in the Marine Corps as a Tank Officer. In 2003, he was assigned to 1st Tank Battalion, Marine Corps Base 29 Palms, California.
In 2004, he deployed to Operation IRAQI FREEDOM as a Tank Platoon Commander then again in 2005 as a TOW Platoon Commander.
From 2006 to 2009, he was assigned to Fleet Antiterrorism Team Company (FAST) Europe in Rota, Spain where he performed duties as Platoon Commander and Operations Officer.
From 2010 to 2013, he was again assigned to 1st Tank Battalion where he performed duties as Battalion Logistics Officer, Commanding Officer of Company E, Company B, and Headquarters and Services
Company. In 2011 he deployed in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM.
From 2013 to 2016, he was assigned to Marine Corps Operations and Tactics Group (MCTOG).
In 2017, he was assigned to 2d Tank Battalion in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina where he performed duties as Battalion Operations Officer and Executive Officer.
From 2018 to 2020, he was assigned as Executive Officer, II Marine Expeditionary Force Information Group (II MIG).
From February 2020 to June 2021, he was assigned as Commanding Officer, 1st Tank Battalion.
From June 2022 to July 2026, he was assigned as the Assistant Chief of Staff, G3/5, Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center Training Command (MAGTF-TC), Twentynine Palms, California.
From July 2026 to present he served as Commanding Officer of MCTOG, Twentynine Palms, California.
Colonel Adams is a resident graduate of the Expeditionary Warfare School, Marine Corps Command and Staff College, and the U.S. Army War College.
