  • February 12 - 26, 2026
  • August 13 - 27, 2026

Important Reminders

Stay Informed:  Check our website for the latest updates when planning your trips or before visiting. Closure dates are published at least 12 months in advance to allow the public to plan recreation in Johnson Valley.

Safety First: Training occurs year-round at the Combat Center. When recreating or off-roading in Johnson Valley, be sure to observe the base boundaries and be aware of the Shared Use Area status. Respect all posted signs and boundaries to avoid trespassing.

Recreation Options: While the JVSUA is closed, the adjacent Johnson Valley Off-Highway Vehicle Recreation Area remains open. Please see our map of the area. Other nearby areas for off-roading and recreation include the Stoddard Valley OHV area and Ocotillo Wells State Vehicle Recreation Area.
