Lt. Col. Tom Gordon, the 1st Tank Battalion commanding officer, congratulates Cpl. Michael Divirgilio, an antitank missileman from Headquarters and Service Company, 1st Tanks, Feb. 25 behind the battalion’s headquarters for earning a Purple Heart Medal. Divirgilio and another Marine, Lance Cpl. Christopher Scroggins, an assaultman from H&S Co., were both wounded Aug. 30 while deployed with Company A to Iraq from April to November 2008.
