A Red-tailed Hawk is held at the Natural Resources Environmental Affairs office a few hours before it is released back in the wild July 30 behind the Combat Center’s Desert Winds Golf Course. The Red-tailed Hawk was captured June 13 after being hit by at the Combat Center’s golf course after it was hit by a golf ball and was injured by the impact. To heal the hawk, NREA took it to the Coachella Valley Wild Bird Center, where it was brought back to health and its strength restored before being returned to NREA.
