In this undated family photo, Petty Officer 2nd Class Anthony Thompson, a hospital corpsman with 2nd Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, lays with his young son, A.J. Thompson was seriously wounded by a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device during his second deployment to Iraq in 2007 with 2nd Bn., 7th Marines. The organization Homes for Our Troops, which specializes in building specialized homes for seriously wounded veterans at no cost, started building a home for him, his wife, Ivonne, and AJ Jan. 8. The house was built up from a concrete slab into a weather-tight structure in a three-day build brigade. The house will be completed in four to six months.
