First Lt. Austin Murnane, 3rd Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion’s assistant operations officer, listens to radio traffic while observing simulated troop movements during Command Post Exercise Menacing Name, a combat operations center training exercise, at the battalion’s light armored vehicle ramp June 4. Murnane served as the watch commander for the exercise, which is designed to help familiarize Marines with COC systems and operations.
