Lance Cpl. Troy Yakin, landing support specialist, 1st Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, is credited with saving the life of Senior Chief Hospital Corpsman Ralph Duron, senior enlisted leader, 21 Area Branch Clinic, Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton, on June 29, 2016. Duron was caught in a riptide with a dislocated shoulder while surfing at Del Mar Beach aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, Calif., when Yakin responded to his cries for help.
