U.S. Marines with Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 461, Marine Aircraft Group 29, 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing, begin daily startup procedures in preparation of a support by fire exercise on Marine Corps Air-Ground Combat Center, Twentynine Palms, Calif., Feb. 4, 2021. MAG-29 assisted Golf Battery, 2nd Battalion, 10th Marine Regiment, 2d Marine Division, by sling loading and transporting M777 Howitzers by aircraft. The Marine Air-Ground Task Force Warfighting Exercise (MWX) is a combined arms training exercise intended to produce combat ready forces capable of operating as an integrated Marine Air-Ground Task Force. MWX 2-21 affords 6th Marine Regiment an opportunity to exercise command and control of warfighting functions from across the Marine Corps and against a live, free thinking adversary.
