Mud seeps from beneath the earth at the drill’s point of entry into water wells as Seabees with the Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 40 drilling team from Naval Base Ventura County, Port Hueneme, Calif., dig deeper into the ground at the Combat Center’s West training area Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2008. The Seabees are helping the Public Works Division find hot spots for geothermal energy in the West training area, which can be used to support the base and cut down energy usage.
