James Bower, Combat Center paramedic firefighter, calms a mock victim of an improvised explosive device detonation outside Condor Gate during an anti-terrorism training exercise taking place at the Combat Center July 14 to 18, 2008. Twelve other Marines played roles as victims to create reality and stress for responding units. Assisting mass casualties was only one portion of the entire scenario.
