Lance Cpl. Kenneth Thomas, an expeditionary airfield technician with airfield operations, Marine Wing Support Squadron 373, based out of Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, Calif., drives home a metal stake with a jackhammer to secure a new mat to the ground at the EAF here Sept. 17. Thomas, a Silverton, Ore., native, said once the project is completed he and his fellow Marines will have driven about 120 stakes around the EAF.
