Alberto Garcia, an infantryman with 3rd Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, from Corpus Christi, Texas, uses a pick axe to dig a hole for new desert vegetation, April 6 at Joshua Tree National Park as part of a restoration effort. Volunteers and park staff dug holes for 120 plants from the Joshua Tree National Park's nursery.
