Lance Cpl. Alexander J. Mcdowell, legal service specialist, Headquarters Battalion, talks to a donor specialist for a screening process to see if he meets the requirements to donate blood during a blood donation event hosted by Headquarters Battalion and Desert Blood Services at the base Catholic chapel April 22, 2014. The screening is used to verify the safety of the blood, which can be compromised with travel outside of the country within a certain time period, tattoos within a year, or other things that may disqualify you for donation.
