Lieutenant Colonel Nate Rollins is a native of Huntsville, Texas and graduated from Sam Houston State University in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and commissioned through the Platoon Leaders Course Program. He completed The Basic School (TBS) and Infantry Officer Course (IOC) in September of 2005.
His operational billets have included 1st Battalion, 9th Marines during Operation Iraqi Freedom (Platoon Commander, Executive Officer, and Company Commander); 2nd Battalion, 4th Marines deployed to Okinawa and the 31st MEU in support of the Unit Deployment Program (Assistant Operations Officer, and Company Commander); and 3d Battalion, 3d Marines deployed to Okinawa in support of the Unit Deployment Program (Battalion Executive Officer); and as the Operations Officer for 3d Marine Regiment, 3d MARDIV.
His supporting establishment billets have included The Basic School (Assistant Instructor, Staff Platoon Commander, and Enlisted Warfighting Instructor Officer in Charge); Tactical Training Exercise Control Group (TTECG) (Maneuver Section Officer in Charge, Assistant Operations Officer, and Operations Officer/Chief Instructor); HQMC Programs and Resources (Budget Analyst); and Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), Cost Assessment and Program Evaluation (CAPE) (Military Assistant to the Director of CAPE). Most
recently, his previous assignment was as Requirements Officer for the Naval Special Warfare Branch (N951) as the NSW Mobility portfolio manager and Project Management Officer for a classified small unmanned surface vessel (sUSV) program with direct support to a Combat Commander urgent requirement.
Lieutenant Colonel Rollins assumed command of Headquarters Battalion, Marine Air Ground Task Force Training Command, Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center on 23 July, 2024.
Lieutenant Colonel Rollins' personal decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal with one gold star, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with one gold star, and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
