The Combat Center hosts unmanned force-on-force Exercise Apollo Shield for IBX30

Marine Corps Air-Ground Combat Center, Twentynine Palms, California, continues to assist in paving the way for Marine Corps modernization by hosting Exercise Apollo Shield, throughout the month of October.

Combat Center personnel ensure safety of water through water treatment facility

It has been one year since the opening of the water treatment facility located at Marine Corps Air-Ground Combat Center, Twentynine Palms, California. The facility represents a substantial investment in ensuring both long term water quality and security for The Combat Center. The mission of the water treatment facility is to provide The Combat Center with safe and reliable drinking water to all service members, civilians, and their families.

Joint integration between Marines, Air Force, and Navy prepares use of unmanned aircraft systems for expeditionary flight during SLTE 5-23

U.S. service members conducted flight training with both Air Force MQ-9A and Navy MQ-8C unmanned aircraft systems during Service Level Training Exercise 5-23, July 27, 2023. This is the first instance of MQ-8C flight operations at the Combat Center. SLTE 5-23 is designed to challenge commanders to operate in a notional littoral environment simulated in the training areas at The Combat Center. Integrating the MQ-9A and the MQ-8C into SLTE 5-23 increases the number of reconnaissance capabilities available to commanders.

Marines test emerging technologies at The Combat Center

Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center (MCAGCC) has emerged as a critical center for innovation within the United States Marine Corps. The largest Marine Corps training facility of its kind, MCAGCC has become an essential testing ground for emerging technologies. Marines with Tactical Training and Exercise Control group (TTECG), Marine Air Ground Task Force Training Command, MCAGCC, in concert with the Office of Naval Research (ONR), tested a quadruped robotic platform referred to as the “robotic goat”, Sept. 9, 2023. TTECG and ONR test fired an M72 Light Anti-tank Weapon rocket launcher from the robotic goat. The robotic goat can carry various sensors or weapon systems that would otherwise be carried by a Marine.

A mass notification and earthquake drill will take place at the Marine Corps Air-Ground Combat Center at 10:19 a.m., Oct. 19, 2023, in conjunction with 2023 Great California ShakeOut Exercise

Tropical Storm Hilary cleanup effort

The Marine Corps Air-Ground Combat Center (MCAGCC), Twentynine Palms, California, is on track to be fully operational after the impacts of Tropical Storm Hilary this week. Hilary passed over MCAGCC and the local area between August 18 and August 21, 2023.
