STAFF TRAINING

Kinetic Operations

No matter where the current fight may take us, Marine battalions and regiments must retain the core skills of massing combat power on enemy targets. Simulation venues offer the battalion staff the opportunity to hone skills necessary for the kinetic fight. With scenarios based right here in Twentynine Palms, battalion and regimental staffs can return to the art of using combined arms in consonance with maneuver and a sound logistics plan to force the enemy into the ultimate battlefield dilemma. With the ability to drive C2PC or CPOF, the BSC can provide tailored one to three day packages that allow a staff to re-connect with its kinetic roots, practicing basic staff skills that transfer to today’s battlefield.

Supporting simulations: MTWS,JCATS, CACCTUS
Recommended training time: 1 to 3 days

Amphibious Roots Training

Throughout the nation’s history, the Marine Corps has preserved the art of amphibious warfare. With simulations specifically designed to practice amphibious assaults, demonstrations, and raids, the BSC offers the opportunity to practice this vital skill at the staff level. Exercise landing tables, serial assignments, and building combat ashore in scenarios based in Camp Lejeune, Camp Pendleton, or foreign shores.

Supporting simulations: MTWS
Recommended training time: 1 to 3 days

Mountain Exercise Transition Training

Bridgeport offers Marine battalions a unique training venue, and that curriculum has advanced to include the command and control devices of the modern battlefield. Battalion staffs can rehearse the detailed C2 that will be required of them at the BSC where the FINEX scenario features all of the events of the real exercise. Using CPOF set up in the MISTC, staffs can streamline their internal procedures, while controlling their companies on the same ground they will walk months or weeks later.

Supporting simulations: MTWS
Recommended training time: 1 to 2 days

Spartan Preparation

Spartan Resolve is the ultimate in staff command post exercises, testing every aspect of the battalion or regimental staff in current theater operations. The BSC provides the perfect bridge between the command control buttonology courses of the MISTC and the full-blown non-kinetic war of MCTOG. Able to be tailored to as little as one day or as much as a week, the Spartan Preparation will allow a staff to practice the coordination on its own terms that is vital to success in Spartan Resolve.

Supporting simulations: MTWS, JCATS
Recommended training time: 2 to 4 day
