The Johnson Valley Shared Use Area will be temporarily closed to the public from August 14-25, 2025, to facilitate critical Marine Corps training. This closure is essential to ensure the safety of both military personnel and the public.

The Marine Corps will also temporarily close the area on the following dates in 2026:

• February 12-26, 2026
• August 13-27, 2026

Temporary closure periods include time to inspect the land for safety before reopening to the public. The adjacent Johnson Valley OHV Recreation Area remains open during temporary closures of the Shared Use Area.

Be aware, live-fire training is conducted year-round at the Combat Center. Recreationists are reminded to respect base boundaries and avoid trespassing.
