Throughout the month of September, the Combat Center is participating in America’s Prepare-A-Thon, a month-long presidential campaign. Each week focuses on a different topic in order to arm Combat Center residents with the information needed on how to better prepare for, respond to and recover from natural and man-made incidents. MCAGCC chefs bring the heat

Combat Center Marine Corps, Navy and civilian chefs turned up the heat as they competed in the Chef of the Quarter competition at Phelps Mess Hall, Sept. 15 and 16, 2015. The chefs went toe-to-toe in culinary knowledge and skills during a written test and timed cook-off during the Sodexo government services-sponsored event.

Lance Cpl. Meagan Shihab, defense clerk, Defense Services Organization, Headquarters Battalion, has wanted to be Marine since she was young. Inspired by her mother, who served eight years in the Marine Corps, she ran more than three 3,000 miles while in the delayed entry program to prepare for recruit training.
