DUNHAM MESS HALL (1880) REDUCED SALAD BAR MENU 

Due to refrigeration outage, Dunham Mess Hall (1880) will be offering a reduced menu until further notice. 

     

JOHNSON VALLEY SHARED USE AREA      

Reminder, the Johnson Valley Shared Use Area will be closed for military training August 15th through the 26th, 2024. The Marine Corps will be conducting critical military training in the area.  

During temporary closures of the Johnson Valley Shared Use Area, the adjacent Johnson Valley OHV recreation remains open for public use. Recreationists are advised to be safe and observe boundaries when recreating in the OHV area while the Shared Use Area is closed.  

All upcoming scheduled closures of the Johnson Valley Shared Use Area for 2024 and 2025 are listed below:

  • February 13-24, 2025

LIBERTY MILITARY HOUSING     

Dear MCAGCC Family Housing residents; in accordance with the National Defense Authorization Act 2020, the Marine Corps is directed to inspect 100% of individual Family Housing homes to assess the structural integrity, habitability, and establish the overall condition of the homes.  The entire inventory of 2,210 homes aboard MCAGCC will be inspected (Adobe Flats I, Adobe Flats II, Adobe Flats III, Adobe Flats IV, Adobe Flats V, Desert View Terrace, Sunflower Terrace, Shadow Mountain, Copper Canyon, Joshua Heights, Marine Palms, Ocotillo Heights, Fairway Heights, Aztec, Two Mile, and Joe Davis communities). These inspections will be conducted by Jacobs/HOR Joint Venture (JV), a third-party contractor, and are scheduled to begin during the week of November 27, 2023, and continue until 24 May 2024.   

The inspection schedule will be available in the upcoming weeks.  The inspection schedule will be updated weekly and posted on Jacobs/HOR JV's website at https://usmcppvinspections.com.      

A reminder inspection date notice will also be emailed three weeks and one week prior to your inspection by the Military Housing Office (MHO) and a doorknob hanger notice will be left by Jacobs/HOR JV on your door twenty-four hours before your inspection. CCFD ANNOUNCES THIS QUARTER'S FIRE SECURITY OFFICER/FIRE WARDEN TRAINING

The Safety Office will be conducting a Safety Representative (CDSO) Quarterly Meeting and the Safety Town Hall Meeting on 23 May 2024 from 0930-1130 in Bldg. 1523 N for those that are appointed as Safety Representative (CDSO's), or any personnel interested in asking safety related questions. The Safety Office Team will be covering Memorial Day Safety, Motorcycle Safety Awareness and Fall Prevention Safety. MEMORIAL DAY HOLIDAY SAFETY BRIEF 

As we take time to reflect and honor the bravery and sacrifices of America’s heroes as well as prepare to begin the “101 Days of Summer,” keep the following safety tips in mind to mitigate risks and enhance your Memorial Day weekend 

 

DRUG SAFETY AWARENESS 

As we enter spring and festival season, The Safety Office, in an effort to help bring attention to drug awareness has created informational guidance in order to help prevent the loss of life to those that live and operate aboard the Combat Center.  

  

SAFETY OFFICE, SAFETY AWARENESS MESSAGE:  PEDESTRIANS ON DEL VALLE ROAD 

In accordance with Combat Center Order 1630.8H Motor Vehicle and Traffic Regulations Instruction Manual, persons are prohibited from running, jogging, or walking on Del Valle Road; this also includes troop formations. There is no PT, running or walking on Del Valle Road. Please help protect your Marines and Sailors by making sure they know this. Remember we want our Marines, Sailors, and civilians to be physically fit, we don’t want them getting injured in the process. REQUIRED SUPERVISOR SAFETY, REFRESHER, AND SAFETY REPRESENTATIVE TRAINING 

The Safety Office will be holding Required Supervisor Safety, Refresher, and Safety Representative training monthly; Those that hold a supervisor position or are appointed as the Safety Representative will be required to attend this training. DRIVING AND MOTORCYCLE SAFETY COURSES REGISTRATION    

All personnel will register for driving and motorcycle safety training courses using ESAMS (Enterprise Safety Application Management System) in accordance with CCO 5100.22D.  If you are not signed up through ESAMS, you will be redirected back to your S-3/Motorcycle President, to be registered for the next available class. If the S-3 or Motorcycle President does not have an ESAMS account, please have them contact the Safety Office at 830-5065 to have an account established. Course Registration Links:

MAY IS DRIVER & MOTORCYCLE SAFETY AWARENESS MONTH 

The following are safe driving and riding practices that all road users — vehicle drivers and motorcyclists alike — should follow to help reduce the number of fatalities and injuries on our roadways: 

•              Observe all traffic laws and always obey the speed limit. 

•              Ride and Drive alcohol- and drug-free. 

•              Avoid distractions while riding or driving. 

•              Drivers should yield to motorcyclists, especially while turning at intersections. 

•              Motorcyclists should wear high-visibility protective gear and DOT-compliant motorcycle helmets. Learn how to identify a safe, DOT-compliant helmet at www.nhtsa.gov/motorcycle-safety/choose-right-motorcycle-helmet 

FACTS: 

•              According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) data, there were 6,218 motorcyclists killed in traffic crashes in 2022, which represents 15% of total highway fatalities for that year and a 1% increase from 2021 (6,143). 

•              The fatality rate for motorcyclists was 22 times more than the passenger car occupant fatality rate in 2022, per 100 million vehicle miles traveled. 

•              35% of all motorcycle riders involved in fatal crashes in 2022 were speeding, compared to 22% of all passenger car drivers. Motorcycle riders 21 to 24 years old involved in fatal crashes had the highest speeding involvement at 51% in 2022. 

•              Of the 2,254 motorcycle riders who died in single-vehicle crashes in 2022, 42% were alcohol-impaired.  

•              Motorcycle helmet use increased among motorcycle riders from 64.9% in 2021 to 66.5% in 2022. Similarly, among motorcycle riders with passengers, helmet use increased: 52.1% in 2021 and 58.3% in 2022.

PWD has been seeing an increased number of wipes and other items in the sewer system that are causing damage to pumps and backups in the system. This applies to porta-potties which also end up in our sewer system! Please flush only toilet papers and place all other items in the trash!

MARINE PALMS FUEL PUMPS OUT OF SERVICE, 6-10 MAY 

Due to required maintenance on both the pumps and the storage tanks, all fuels will be unavailable at the Marine Palms Marine Mart (Bldg. 1090) from Monday, 6 May through Friday, 10 May.  The Ocotillo Marine Mart (Bldg. 3853) will be open during this time and offers all fuels except Diesel. 

 

“WE SALUTE YOU” CELEBRATION – 17 MAY 

MCCS will host the “We Salute You” Celebration from 1800-2200 on Friday, 17 May at Victory Field.  This event will consist of a live concert featuring opening artist Otherwise and Jimmy Eat World headlining, DJ “Big Mike” Saunders, food vendors, beer concessions, giveaways, and a Mobile Body Art Bus - it promises to be a great night for our patrons!  For questions and additional information, please visit 29Palms.usmc-mccs.org.

ID CARD CHECKS AT THE GATE  

As of 12 March 2024, Military Police personnel performing gate sentry duties, will require the drivers to physically hand-over their identification cards to the gate sentry. The gate sentry will physically inspect the card and properly scan it, prior to handing it back to the driver. Questions or concerns related to this process, can be directed to the PMO Desk Sergeant at 830-6800.  

  

NEW LOCATION FOR SOME VISITOR CENTER SERVICES 

The Provost Marshal's Office is pleased to announce the following services will move from the Visitor Center located next to the Main Gate to Provost Marshal's Office Bldg. 1408.  

The hours of operation are Monday through Thursday from 0800 to 1100 and 1200 to 1600.  You can schedule appointments, to include Fridays, by calling (760) 830-4838.  The Services include:

-Pet Registration   

-Personnel Profile Updates   

-Personnel Check-in and Check-out

The Visitor Center, located adjacent to the Main Gate Bldg. 0901, has an appointment line?  There has been a significant increase in visitor traffic lately causing delays in accessing the Combat Center. Please call (760) 830-6734 to schedule an appointment or for more information.  Appointments can be scheduled for the following:     

1.  DBIDS pre-enrollment process for temporary or long-term access to the Combat Center:  https://dbids-global-enroll.dmdc.mil/preenrollui/#!/     

2.  Sponsors for personnel visiting the Combat Center can contact the Visitor Center using your official (.mil) account. In your email, you will need to send the DBIDS request form, located at https://www.29palms.marines.mil/Portals/56/Docs/Visitor-Center/DBIDS-Request-Form.pdf, to confirm your sponsorship privileges.  Once you have sent the sponsorship form, advise your guest to schedule an appointment with the Visitor Center. **Note: The guest cannot make this appointment until you have coordinated the sponsorship form via email.

The Resident:  

  • Provides a minimum of 30-day notice to vacate to Liberty Military Housing.  
  • Returns the home in good condition.  

Liberty Military Housing provides:  

  • An inspection prior to move-out to assess the condition of your home utilizing the move-in inspection checklist.  
  • Appropriate maintenance services and a speedy issue resolution.  
  • A final determination of any damages or repairs and associated costs.  
  • A move-out survey for you to provide feedback.  

MHO provides:  

  • Provides answers to questions and issue resolution process.  
  • MHO representative at move-out inspection.  
  • PCS assistance and MHO contact for your next location.  
  • Support on any issues.

DELL LATITUDE END OF LIFE 

Due to the lack of vendor support, the Dell Latitude E5470 is End of Life.  All laptops of this make and model will be disconnected from the Marine Corps Enterprise Network (MCEN) on 14 May 2024. All E5470 units need to complete a tech refresh no later than 14 May. Failure to do so will result in these devices being isolated from the MCEN.
